I have had an interest in art particularly oil paintings from quite a young age. I believe my frequent visits to the Melbourne museum as a young boy inspired me and started my passion not only in the arts but also antiques. I have studied painting under a number of Art teachers including Bill Caldwell, Shirley Bourne and Gregory R Smith. I prefer to paint outdoor landscapes and seascapes in a realistic, impressionistic style. I love to catch the light and atmosphere of nature. I have painted still life's and portraits but my love is the outdoors. I also enjoy using other mediums such as pastels and coloured pencils. I have had paintings exhibited in various art shows over the years and I am keen to resume exhibiting more frequently in my retirement years.
